The Oppo A78 5G boasts a 50MP main camera and enhanced battery performance

Positioning itself as a fashion-forward device, the OPPO A78 5G brings about hardware and software enhancements – highlights being a 50MP main camera alongside its improved charging technology.

Measuring 188g and 7.99mm in thickness, the A78 creates the sensation of a sparkling beam of light with polished rings around the camera module. The aesthetics can also be attributed to the iconic OPPO Glow process applied on the backplate, which also provides a fingerprint-free matte finish.

Charging Technology

To shrink the charging time associated with the long-lasting 5,000mAh battery, the 33W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge brings the phone to a full charge in 67 minutes, which provides up to 22.85 hours of phone calls.

A series of All-Day AI Power Saving features aids in maximizing the overall battery life. Among those, the Super Power Saving mode saves battery for dire situations, while the Super Night Standby studies user sleeping patterns to bring power consumption down to 2%.

Upgraded Photography Performance

On its rear, the 50MP main camera is partnered with a 108MP camera and software algorithms to increase footage clarity. The selfie array consists of a 2MP self-portrait lens and an 8MP front camera for high-quality portraits.

A set of smart imaging features like AI Portrait Retouching, AI Scene Enhancement, and Ultra Night Mode further enhances the images to unleash user creativity.

Immersive entertainment experiences

Pairing dual stereo speakers with Real Original Sound Technology, the OPPO A78 produces more immersive surround sound for different entertainment activities. Louder sound demands can also be fulfilled with the Ultra Volume Mode – increasing volume up to 200%.

For visual pleasure, the 6.56-inch Colour-Rich Display with a 90Hz high refresh rate delivers enjoyable gaming and video experiences, whilst fending away eye strain with All-Day AI Eye Comfort.

Strong internals in multiple areas

The MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC provides powerful 5G performance on the A78 5G with its efficient Octa-Core Processor.

As reinforcements, OPPO’s RAM Expansion doubles the amount the RAM by 8GB, resulting in a total of 16GB of memory for seamless interactions with multiple programs. Any storage concerns can be easily addressed with a 1TB SD card which is supported on this device.

Availability and Pricing

The OPPO A78 will be available in Singapore island-wide from 4 February 2023, priced at S$399 (8GB RAM + 128GB ROM). It comes in two colourways; Glowing Purple and Glowing Black.
